Dan Smith is one of the Planner / Buyers for Thern. He has been with the company for 12 years now and continues to find that it brings fresh and exciting challenges and projects each day. To Dan, Thern means family, teamwork, great products and efficient problem-solving. The coworkers and people involved in the company use their teamwork, and relationships to problem solve, build and deliver quality products for our end-users. Going in, Dan intended to make this a temporary position before he was able to find something else. That changed quickly, as he grew to love his work more and more every day.
Dan never pictured himself in manufacturing but decided quickly that this was the place to stick around. He had several bosses in his time at Thern who saw potential in him and encouraged him to be the best he could be for himself and the business. He was able to build the career and life he dreamed of. One thing that surprised Dan about Thern was the chance employees had to make a change within the company. Everyone in the company wants it to succeed, and they’re working hard together to make it happen.
An interesting fact about Dan is that he is a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. Dan and his family enjoy watching and attending Vikings games throughout their season. Thern provided an opportunity for Dan to be a part of a team that would help install the Line Shaft System used for retractable seating in the US Band Stadium.
