What attracted me to Thern is knowing that all of Thern’s winches and cranes are locally made and seeing a crane go through its manufacturing process from the pipe being cut and welded all the way to the finishing labels and packaging. I’ve stayed because I formed great working relationships with many of my coworkers and having a great steady schedule. I think that Thern has a very supportive crew. After seeing a video of our winches and cranes in action, and I felt a sense of pride knowing that I had a hand in making that happen. Thern has allowed me to pursue interest in multiple work areas including manual machining as well as assembly and doing so helped me gain a greater understanding for what we do and how we do it. Thern has had one of the best work environments I’ve been a part of. Great coworkers make heavy work lighter. Apply now!

I was drawn to the fact that we manufacture our own products. Seeing something go from raw material to a finished product is incredibly rewarding. What’s made me stay is being able to see our products run and having the opportunity to help develop new ones. The custom work keeps things changing, which makes the job interesting and challenging. The culture is built around great people across different parts of the business, which gives you exposure to a variety of markets and perspectives. As a family-owned company, your input truly matters. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, along with a healthy work-life balance. Over the past eight years, the company has provided me with the opportunity to grow from my initial role into my current position as Production Manager. Throughout that time, I’ve expanded my technical knowledge, strengthened my leadership abilities, and developed a deeper understanding of our operations. Working on custom projects and new product development has sharpened my problem-solving skills and helped me think more strategically about production efficiency, quality, and team development. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to see the full process from start to finish, this is a great place to be. It’s a fast-paced environment where you can build things with your hands and see the results firsthand. If you have a question or want to learn more about a component, you can go right to the assembly line and see it in action. The variety in projects keeps the work engaging and rewarding.
