At Thern, you’ll work alongside company leaders and friends who have proven experience designing, fabricating, and selling top-quality lifting, pulling, and positioning equipment. We are proud to say that it isn’t just another job. You’ll create lasting friendships and quickly notice that each team member feels valued and appreciated for their unique talents and gifts. Thern takes pride in knowing each employee makes a difference in our business’s success every single day. Responsibility for making decisions and implementing ideas is found at every level in our organization. Inside Sales Manager of Industrial Products Mike Guenther noted, “Thern offers employees the ability to grow within the organization and to have a voice when it comes to process improvements or new product ideas. Input from all employees within the organization is valuable and respected. The culture is very family-oriented. Everyone’s talents and efforts are well respected, as we often wear more than one hat. There is definitely something to be said for enjoying the people you work with day in and day out.”
3. Updated Offices & Shop Floor Environments
The Thern headquarters in Winona underwent some significant changes in 2022. Starting with the office, the staff enjoyed new furniture as we remodeled to make workspaces lighter, brighter, and more ergonomic. Simultaneously, the shop floor received numerous improvements. To further enhance safety, lines were painted for pedestrian and forklift traffic. The shipping warehouse has been transformed with new paint and additional racking to help improve the flow of product. Furthermore, we eliminated wasted motions and processes to reduce costs and meet heightened customer demand, flowing product more efficiently throughout the facility.
4. Various Types of Jobs to Choose From
At Thern, there are numerous full-time jobs with benefits to choose from. Open positions include everything from a warehouse receiving clerk and accounting specialist to a manufacturing plant manager and machine operator. Additionally, there are plenty of opportunities for career advancement and growth throughout the company.
5. We’re Involved with the Community
Work for a company that is involved with the Winona community and gives back to meaningful causes. In 2022, we attended the Goodview Days parade, showcasing to residents what we do at our company and the products we make. Thern representatives visited career fairs at area colleges recruiting for internship opportunities, as well as full-time hires and connecting with students. We also held fundraising events for causes like fighting cancer and the American Heart Association.
“I’ve worked for large and small businesses and have always preferred the atmosphere and comradery of a smaller family-owned business like Thern,” said Design Engineer Jeremy Anderson.
Mike Guenther added, “I love how Thern offers the best of both worlds. Big time, high-quality products for use globally in high-profile projects and applications but with the family-oriented culture you would associate with a smaller company that encourages flexibility and teamwork.”
Project Manager Chris Reilly noted, “I’m very happy to be a part of the Thern team. The culture at Thern is outstanding…the people are great…my manager has integrity and really cares about me and everyone else in the group. I feel like my work adds value to the organization and that the organization values my work…which are not things I can say about every company I have been with.”
