Boat Positioning Winch | Custom Built for a Boat Manufacturer

A Ohio-based boat manufacturer uses Thern winches in their manufacturing process. Construction begins as liquid fiberglass is poured into a mold to create the hull of the boat. After allowing around 45 minutes for the material to cure, the mold must be flipped. It’s easy to imagine that with its large size, flipping a 40-foot mold is no simple task.

To make the job easier, they found Thern’s model 4771PN, a 2000 lb capacity pnuematic winch, to be ideal for the task. Once a three to five person manual operation, the task is now easily handled by one person simply operating the winch control.
