Un autre objectif de la mise \u00e0 jour \u00e9tait d\u2019accro\u00eetre la s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Une partie de l\u2019infrastructure comprend une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de pompes et d\u2019agitateurs, qui font partie int\u00e9grante du processus de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es. Ces pompes et agitateurs doivent \u00eatre r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement retir\u00e9s des bassins de traitement pour \u00eatre inspect\u00e9s et entretenus, ce qui n\u00e9cessite l\u2019utilisation d\u2019une grue et d\u2019un treuil.<\/p>\n<p>Les grues fixes utilis\u00e9es par l\u2019exploitant de la station \u00e9taient grandes, lourdes et difficiles \u00e0 utiliser. Le propri\u00e9taire\/exploitant a donc d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019explorer d\u2019autres solutions dans le cadre de la modernisation. Les palans devaient \u00eatre capables de soulever les agitateurs et les pompes lourds au-dessus du mur de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du r\u00e9servoir. Les extensions de base permettent aux fl\u00e8ches des grues de faire basculer facilement les pompes et les agitateurs par-dessus les rambardes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et dans les r\u00e9servoirs. Les op\u00e9rateurs restent en permanence derri\u00e8re les garde-corps, ce qui accro\u00eet leur s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Thern a \u00e9galement recommand\u00e9 plusieurs bases de grue que l\u2019op\u00e9rateur peut ancrer en permanence \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des r\u00e9servoirs.
